NPR (National Public Radio) is the largest US public radio. You can listen to it (you should!) on the radio at WBUR, 90.9. But you an also listen to content at their website : https://www.npr.org/
This American Life (Radio Program: available on the Web as well)
"This American Life" is a very very good radio program about life in America. Not the life of famous, but more "ordinary" life; you will see that ordinary's people's life is often extraordinary. They have recoding (very good quality) and transcript:
